The weather is near perfect, with temperatures averaging 64 degrees Fahrenheit in January while August averages 81.9. During the summer months, late afternoon showers with breezes from the Gulf of Mexico act as Englewood natural air conditioning.

State Road 776 provides convenient access to hotels, connecting with U.S. 41 and I-75 via Jacaranda Boulevard (Exit 35) or the River Road connection with I-75 (Exit 34). Interstate Highway 75 traverses the county in a north/south direction. U.S. Highway 41 (also known as Tamiami Trail) is the other main north/south route. It runs and even parallels the ocean from Tampa to Miami.

Southwest Florida International Airport offers jet service and connections to areas all over the world from its facility southeast of Englewood hotels and near Fort Myers hotels. Hotels residents and visitor often use the Sarasota/Bradenton airport as well.

Englewood Residents enjoy good hardball with the minor leagues in the summer months (former home of the Texas Rangers in the spring) at the Charlotte County Stadium Complex on State Road 776.
